MOUNTAIN BIKING AT YMCA CAMP INGERSOLL

YMCA Camp Ingersoll is excited to start its fifth season of Mountain Biking! This program will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting March 31st and ending May 31st (two sessions).

This program is available to anyone between the ages of 8 -14. The cost per session is $100 for Y Members, $125 for Program Members, and $150 for Non Y Members. If families register for both sessions together a 10% discount is applied.

We will hold two practices per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 4:30 -6:00 pm. Tuesday practices (and the first two Thursday practices on 3/31 and 4/7) will be held at Camp Ingersoll, while Thursday practices (except for the first two Thursday practices on 3/31 and 4/7) will meet at local parks or riding spots (Portland Reservoir, Hurd State Park, Wadsworth Falls, Millers Pond, etc. . .).

Individuals are encouraged to use their own mountain bikes throughout the program. Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing while preparing to ride rain or shine. Riders should bring water bottles, an extra bike tube, snacks if desired, a helmet that fits, and riding gloves (gardening/work/thin ski liners also work).

Throughout the session we will be focusing on body position, bike set up, switching gears, traversing obstacles, and riding in all conditions!
