We will hold two practices per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 4:00 -5:30 pm. Thursday practices will meet at Camp Ingersoll in Portland. Tuesday Practices will meet at the Portland Reservoir, Hurd State park, or other local trail locations.
Individuals are encouraged to use their own mountain bikes throughout the program, however it is not required to participate. We do have extra bikes participants can use.
Scot Peaslee will be returning as our experienced Mountain Biking Coach. Scot has a passion for teaching mountain biking as he is an avid rider and loves to watch kids learn, grow, challenge themselves, and have fun as they ride! We must have at least 8 participants to run this program.
MEET YOUR COACH - SCOT PEASLEE
We are excited to invite Scot Peaslee back at Camp Ingersoll. Scot is a long time member of the YCI family where he ran mountain biking, triathlon training camps, and served as the Assistant Specialty Camp Director. He has coached high school mountain biking programs in the past and is an enthusiastic advocate for the sport. Throughout the program he will teach skills of steep climbs and descents, as well as the technical aspects of riding such as bike maintenance and emergency repairs. He is excited to get back on a bike!
