PROGRAMAS DE ENRIQUECIMIENTO Y DEPORTES PARA JÓVENES

La YMCA de Middlesex ofrece una amplia variedad de programas deportivos para jóvenes, así como otras actividades enriquecedoras como tiro con arco, pesca, construcción con Lego y judo, entre otras.Trabajamos arduamente para crear un ambiente divertido y acogedor desde el momento en que su hijo ingresa a la clase.

Una vez que su hijo se sienta cómodo, nuestros maestros continuarán brindando actividades enriquecedoras que enfatizan el crecimiento personal, no solo el avance de las habilidades.

Programas con un Propósito

Desarrolle la confianza en sí mismo: se alienta a los niños a usar su imaginación y sus maestros los ayudan a crear un entorno libre de riesgos. Cada clase incluye objetivos alcanzables que todos los participantes pueden alcanzar.
 
Practique habilidades sociales: recibir un elogio de "buen trabajo" del maestro puede ser muy emocionante, pero darle a un compañero un "bien hecho". la alegría puede ser una nueva experiencia social. Se alienta y ayuda a los niños a interactuar entre sí y hacer nuevos amigos. 

Aprende nuevas habilidades: nuestras actividades para jóvenes están dirigidas por profesionales experimentados. Las actividades son apropiadas para la edad y el desarrollo mientras progresan a lo largo de las lecciones.



Diviértete: muchas veces las actividades son tan divertidas que tus hijos no se darán cuenta de que están desarrollando sus habilidades simultáneamente. Las actividades juveniles tienen que ver con la participación y la exposición a nuevas experiencias. Sus hijos siempre saldrán de la YMCA con una sonrisa en la cara.

Youth Sports & Enrichment Class Descriptions

Explore our class descriptions to learn more about what your little one will be doing in our Youth Sports & Enrichment program at the Y!

Little Ballers Basketball (Ages 4-6)

Focusing on participation, building confidence, and having fun, participants will learn the basic skills of basketball. Kids will learn the fundamentals of passing, dribbling, and shooting in basketball, all while being able to meet new friends, and learn in an active, non-competitive, and engaging atmosphere.

Little Dribblers Soccer (Ages 4-6)

Focusing on participation, building confidence, and having fun, participants will learn the basic skills of soccer. Kids will learn the fundamentals of passing, dribbling, and shooting in soccer, all while being able to meet new friends, and learn in an active, non-competitive, and fun atmosphere.

Intro to Tumbling & Active Movements (Ages 4-8)

Join us as we learn the basics of tumbling and active movements! Classes will incorporate the fundamental skills of balance, flexibility, and body control, which will provide the building blocks for furthering gymnastics and parkour skills. Students will work to improve flexibility, strength, body awareness, and focus on technique to ensure safety.

Little Chefs Club (Ages 3-12*)

Practice basic cooking fundamentals, kitchen skills, and safety. This hands-on class includes a new homecooked meal that you can take home or eat in class, your very own recipe book, and a personalized chef's apron.

*Adult is required to attend class with any participant 8 years old or younger.

Parent & Me Basketball (Ages 3-4)

This program is designed to create a nurturing and engaging environment for both parents/guardians and children to bond and develop essential motor skills and physical coordination through the exciting game of basketball.

STACK'D Sports (Ages 4-6)

In this class, your little one will experience seven different sports all STACK'D on top of each other! Some of these sports include Soccer, Tee Ball, Archery, Climbing, Kickball, and Disc Golf (STACK'D).

Mini Olympics (Ages 6-9)

This brand-new program acts as an extension to our STACK'D Sports class, although no previous experience is required! As Mini Olympians, participants will fine-tune their technique and skills in a new sport each week! Archery, Climbing, Disc Golf, Basketball, Baseball/Softball, and more!

Archery (Ages 5-12)

Learn the fundamentals of archery by participating in unique, inventive, and engaging archery games out at YMCA Camp Ingersoll! Fun for a wide range of ages, no experience required.

Outdoor Adventure (Ages 6-12)

Participants will engage in a new outdoor adventure activity each week including climbing, parkour, fire-building, archery, hiking, and more! Fun for a wide range of ages, no experience required.

Tee Ball (Ages 4-6)

Focusing on participation, building confidence, and having fun, participants will learn the basic skills of Baseball/Softball including throwing, catching, hitting, and base running all while learning in an active, non-competitive, and engaging environment.

Campfire Cooking (Ages 6-12*)

Practice basic outdoor cooking fundamentals, skills, and safety. This hands-on class includes a new homecooked meal that you can take home or eat in class, your very own recipe book, and a personalized chef's apron!

Mountain Biking (Ages 10-15)

Mountain Biking at Camp Ingersoll is back! Join us on a fun adventure through the grounds of YMCA Camp Ingersoll in Portland as well as some local parks. Every Tuesday, we will meet at Camp Ingersoll, while on Thursdays (except the first Thursday where we will be at Camp) we will meet at either Hurd State Park or the Portland Reservoir. Our goal is to learn more about the sport of mountain biking while riding, having fun, and strengthening our bodies. If possible, participants should bring their own Mountain Bikes (bikes without gears will make it extremely difficult for kids).

Judo (Beginners - Brand New & White Belt)

This class is for beginners and will include introductory skills, learning to fall safely, throw, and grapple through fun and educational games.

Judo (Advanced - Yellow Belts & Adults)

This class is for the advanced students. It will provide a deeper understanding of technique, throwing, grappling, and confidence building.
