8th Annual YMCA Camp Ingersoll

Chill for Change 2022!

After the groundbreaking success of last year's Chill For Change, we are more excited than ever to start preparing for Chill For Change 2022! This past year has been challenging enough for everyone. Our goal is to raise money in order to send kids to camp for a life-changing Ingersoll experience! 

In 2021 we raised over $20,000.00! How you ask? It's pretty simple.

  1. Convince your friends to have some fun with you while also positively impacting your community.

  2. Create a team name that bestows comradery, fun, adventure, and daring. Or skip this step.

  3. Click on the link in this line: CHILL FOR CHANGE PAGE

  4. Click on the button to the right, "I want to fundraise for this" to create a Team and Jumping Page, an Individual Jumping Page, or to join a team already created.

  5. Customize your team and personal page by inserting pictures and writing your own personal story. If you jumped before, try to find your picture below to save and insert into your profile.

  6. Send your donation link out via text to family, friends, coworkers, college buddies, book clubs, sports teams, and acquaintances whose numbers you still have.

  7. Share your donation link on Facebook, Instagram, tik tok, and others.

  8. Pay attention to your email as you will be sent an electronic waiver to sign (if not, you will be given one to sign at the jump)

  9. Create a friendly competition with friends and teammates while remembering that we're all winners because all funds raised help to send campers to Ingersoll this summer.

  10. Plan your costume.

  11. Get together and have fun making your costume (which must include shoes) while also making a promise to each other that on February 19th you will all arrive at Camp Ingersoll in Portland at 1:00 pm so everyone can start jumping by 1:30 pm at the absolute latest!   

  12. Arrive at Camp Ingersoll (94 Camp Ingersoll Rd, Portland) at 1:00 pm on February 19th ready to make magic happen.

  13. Listen to a brief inspirational message and thank you from director Ben Silliman.

  14. Line up, jump in, get changed, avoid thinking about the cold by focusing on the difference your making in the lives of the campers your supporting, and start thinking about getting more people involved next year!

Things to Remember When Donating Online:

  • Select the name of the participant you want to donate to.

  • Click Donate Now and follow the steps

Don't see your participants name, check with them to make sure they have registered through the link above! 

There are plenty of ways for everyone to be involved!

1. Take the Plunge! - Create a team to jump together or sign up individually! Would be plungers seek out pledges and donations for their willingness to jump into freezing (but also exhilarating) Jobs Pond at Camp Ingersoll. Participants 14 yrs and older are invited to Plunge. Children under 18 years of age must have a Parent or Guardian sign their waiver and be present at the event. All proceeds go directly towards providing camp scholarships for children to attend YMCA Camp Ingersoll over the summer! See below for the how-to sign up you or your team today!

2. Donate to Someone Else taking the plunge! And then come to watch! - Would be plungers must raise a minimum of $100 and they can't do it on their own. If you know someone who is participating, support them by making a pledge!

3. Watch and Spread the News of the Event! - We will most likely be limiting spectators this year due to Covid-19 guidelines, but we will be live-streaming the event on our Camp Ingersoll Facebook page so be sure to tune in to see all our participants take the plunge! Be sure to share it so everyone is able to see this great event!

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!!

The individual who raises THE MOST Funds, will receive a certificate for 1 FREE SESSION OF CAMP! This certificate can be used for your own family, or can be gifted to anyone who would benefit!

Prizes will also be awarded for Best Costume and Best Team Theme! So gather your friends, families, co workers, or whoever else and start planning your costumes!
