FREE EVENTS FOR ALL FAMILIES (See below for event descriptions)
Come out with your family and enjoy the beautiful Spring weather at Camp Ingersoll and try our Camp Compass Challenge! This outdoor challenge will consist of a combination of clues and riddles to solve, compass directions to follow, and more to complete. Our goal is to provide a fun, safe, exciting outdoor challenge for you to try to complete!
We will be meeting by the main Camp Office at 10:00am and families are welcome to begin the challenge once they arrive and check-in or after the compass instruction/demonstration at 10:15pm. After solving all the clues there will be a final question for your family to try to solve and hand in before leaving- at the end of the event we will pick one family at random that has the correct answer and they will win a Camp Ingersoll prize pack!
Compasses are needed for this event (most smartphone compasses will work fine for this)- and we also have a limited amount of compasses that can be borrowed for the event. Please be sure to mark that on the registration form below.
The event is free for the community but we do have a highly suggested donation of at least $5 per child if possible. To register please fill out our short registration form by clicking here:

Hello YMCA, Camp, and community Families. We are excited to get together to have some fun in the sun on Saturday. We have had to adjust some of our activities for this Saturday and would like to make everyone aware.
Unfortunately, we will not be holding the 5k XC race. We still plan on holding a kids Fun Run. . . .approximately 1/4 -1/2 mile (untimed) to celebrate being active and getting outside. We will run that at 4pm. Healthy Kids Day is the YMCA's National Initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids. We have a full afternoon planned of activities for all ages!
From 2-4 PM families can join us for an afternoon filled with choice activities for families. Elements of our High Ropes Course will be open for use. Archery will be open, we will have our sports equipment out on the courts for families to play with. Families can also bring their own bikes (with helmets), go on their own hikes, fish, and enjoy the grounds from 2-4pm.
Throughout the day we will also be holding tours (by sign up) for camp families (or potential Camp Families). Tours will be approximately 30 minutes and will cover the main parts of the camp. We will take 5 families at a time. Families must reserve a time slot here.
We understand that there may be some big changes in Connecticut Covid-19 policies by Saturday. As of right now, we do not have any information other than what we have been using to make policies. All families will be required to wear masks at this event and we ask that everyone respects distancing requirements. We thank you in advance for being patient and adjusting to the changes. We hope to see you on Saturday!
Get a jump on a favorite family pastime and bring the whole family to enjoy an afternoon of fishing at YMCA Camp Ingersoll from 5:30 - 7:30 PM! For children ages 3-15 years. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants should provide their own fishing equipment, but we do have camp equipment for families that cannot provide their own. Camp Ingersoll Staff will be on hand to help out along with Zah's Bait and Tackle! Prizes will be awarded for the largest fish, smallest fish, and most fish caught.
Following the Fishing Derby, join us for a Family Movie at The Amphitheater. The Movie will begin around 8:00 PM. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, families and friends for a fun filled evening at Camp Ingersoll!

FAMILY NIGHTS 2021- Details TBD- Please Check Back Soon!
Every year we emphasize the importance of our Camp Family because we believe being part of a strong and supportive family is essential to our maturation, growth and understanding of the world we live in. We want to welcome you into our Camp Family whether you have experienced camp, have visited the grounds, or you are simply familiar with our name and that we exist!
We welcome hundreds of families to our Camp Ingersoll Family Nights throughout the summer. Starting at 6:30pm, families enjoy the freedom of an Open Camp setting with BOATING, ARCHERY, SWIMMING, ROPES and SO MUCH MORE! At 7:45pm, our activity areas begin to close and families are invited to join our staff at the amphitheater for an introduction to our leadership team, a performance from our Dance and Glee Camps, a catchy sing-along to our Inger-Song and a walk through the "Tunnel of Love."
Family nights also provide an opportunity for parents to meet counselors and leadership staff, see campers interact with their new friends and experience what Ingersoll has to offer. We continually strive to improve our family night, but are confined by our After Camp and busing schedule along with bedtimes! With limited time available, we understand that you may not get a chance to take advantage of everything; this is why we invite all families to all family nights throughout the summer!
We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to spend time together, connect with our Camp Family and most importantly, HAVE FUN!
"My daughter was very proud to tell me that she learned to Kayak on her own. We had an opportunity to use a kayak at Family Night. She was so excited to show off her NEW skills! - parent of camper 2019
